Jonathan Wilson (jawsnap) > _11/09/09_ Circular
Today's sunset provided some pretty nice light and some amazing cloud patterns. I ended up driving home during the best time for the clouds (shucks), but before that happened, I was walking around campus with my attention pointed upwards to the nicely lit buildings. This one is the Orthopedic Hospital Research Center and Biomedical Sciences Research Building, which I also shot for my 5/26/09 daily.

Jonathan Wilson (jawsnap) > _11/08/09_ Copper
When my family went through my late grandfather's house I claimed these copper cups, which are shotglass-sized. I'm not sure what the little platters are for, but there's 8 of them, and also 8 pint-size cups. There's also 2 trays, which apparently are ash trays. My grandfather probably picked them up when he was stationed in Chile during WWII. The following is stamped on the bottom of everything:
"Enrique Avalos, R M - Hand Made - Chile"
Anyone know what R M means?
I spent a good portion of the day polishing them to what I assume is their former glory. It was a lot of work, and I didn't get to everything, as shown in this photo. I thought a polished and non-polished version would be an interesting juxtaposition. I positioned them on some black leather for the background and lit them from the side using a reflector on my flash unit.

Jonathan Wilson (jawsnap) > _11/07/09_ Bricked Cans
Now with half the calories of regular bricks.
Saw this on a building (apartments?) near the service station where we got the oil changed in our car today. I can't tell if it's recycling or art. Maybe both? Quite a variety of drinks in here, though, it was fun to look at.

Jonathan Wilson (jawsnap) > _11/06/09_ Spider Dinner
This spider was patient. I mean, I'd be pissed if I was eating dinner at home and some guy with a camera comes up to me and starts taking photos, flashing this bright light in all eight of my eyes. This one was cool with it and didn't stop eating the whole time.
Here's a setup photo for you.

Jonathan Wilson (jawsnap) > _11/05/09_ Antenna
Of course, the photo is less about the antenna and more about the awesome wispy clouds. I took my camera for a walk around sunset, hoping the clouds would light up, but... they didn't. I upped the clarity to make the clouds more defined, and raised the black levels so the antenna was a pure black silhouette.

Jonathan Wilson (jawsnap) > _11/04/09_ Window Bear
Mr. Bear does a good job of holding open the window for the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Can you believe it's been a year since Obama was elected? Crazy.

Jonathan Wilson (jawsnap) > _11/03/09_ Self Spoons
This is a desperation shot that ended up taking a while - had to find a flashlight, position the spoons and switch to my compact to get the exposure right. The iPhone didn't cut it.
I made it half a work day today, but decided to take the rest of the day off to continue recovering. Hopefully I'll be back to 100% soon. I spent most of the time watching TV on Netflix.

Jonathan Wilson (jawsnap) > _11/02/09_ Blue Pill
I stayed home today - still recovering, so it's another desperation shot. This is some Benadryl that will hopefully make my nose stop running - it could use a break.

Jonathan Wilson (jawsnap) > _11/01/09_ Drops
Desperation shot of our shower door. I'm still pretty sick today, so nothing too exciting. The background hexagons are the out-of-focus bathroom lights.
