Grillin' some meat at Riley's at Los Rios Rancho, an apple orchard in Yucaipa, CA. Sadly they were "out" of apples, so there was no picking to be done. We did press our own cider, however, which was very fun and very delicious. We also went on an informative hay ride, where we learned that Walt Disney's favorite apple variety was the Arkansas Black, a very dark apple that was depicted in Snow White. It also has the waxiest skin, so it stays edible for a long time. We also learned that apples are descended from roses, and there are about 7500 varieties worldwide.
As you might imagine, I like this photo because of the light shining from the grill through the smoke.
I'd also like to take this daily caption opportunity to point you towards my New England gallery. Sure, we went on the trip 2 months ago, but I'd been too busy to upload the pics. I uploaded them a few days ago, but I just finished geotagging them this morning. That's right, I geotagged all 87 photos, so you can follow our steps exactly. Not that you want to... but you can!
