I like how shooting through the mesh of our tent looks here. We loaded up our backpacks and hiked down to Cooper Canyon Trail Camp in the Angeles NF, which was NOT affected by the government shutdown.
We had originally planned to stay the night, but we didn't because it was supposedly one of the worst Santa Ana wind days in years and mountain passes could expect gusts of 80 mph. We'd had some bad experiences in the past, so we heeded the warning and hiked back out that day, after setting up the tent for practice (it had been 1.5 years since we used it).
And of course the weather ended up being lovely and we totally could have stayed. Oh well.
