One/Day Project, Year 2: shoot-edit-upload one photo every day, always with the goal of improving my photography skills. Feedback is welcome and appreciated!
_11/10/09_ Oscar
Yes, it's a real Oscar, and yes, I got to hold and touch it. It's pretty heavy, which is not all that unexpected.
This one belonged to Dorothy Jeakins, who won it for costume design in The Night of the Iguana (1964). After reading the
IMDB page, I have determined that it is not, in fact, a horror movie about giant lizards. Although showing off an Academy Award is pretty cool in itself, the Library also has a large collection of costume designs from Jeakins.
Sadly I only had my iPhone with me to get the shot. I opened up the image in Photoshop to mask the figure and blur the background so it popped out a little more and got rid of some of the distracting noise from the high ISO.
