Welcome to the One/Day Project
Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.
Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Didn't take many photos today. In fact, only took two - the other one was almost exactly the same as this one. Lowered the clarity for a soft look. Ta da!

I can hardly believe it, our shower is fixed! It's been a month since we've been able to use it. Don't worry, we're not smelly - we have a 2nd bathroom.
This is a noisy photo with nothing in sharp focus, but I liked the feel of it. I'd explain what everything is... but I don't want to. I'm too happy about having a working shower again!

I liked how this reflective building looked with the tree. I liked it better in person - I'm kinda 'eh' about this photograph. I do like how the dirty streaks on some of the windows showed up.

Sure, it's no optical illusion, but any strange-looking staircase always makes me think of Escher drawings. This view is looking up at one that ascends into a building that doesn't really start until the 2nd story. It's kind of hard to explain, but you'll be OK. You usually are.

Kind of a depressing photo for the start of 2012 - it's the leftover Christmas trees awaiting disposal behind a drug store.
I've been a little busy to comment much, but it was nice seeing everyone's New Years photos! And congrats to everyone who finished a year of daily photos! My year will end on leap day (February 29th). Just 2 more months and I'll have finished four years...

Happy New Year!
New Year's Eve has been relaxing - a nice, lazy day with my wife. I've never really photographed sparklers before, so this isn't the most inspired photo. Also, I'm pretty sure they're illegal. At least I'm not going around setting cars on fire - apparently there's been a very busy arsonist in Hollywood over the past few nights.

This lovely yellow balloon was floating around as we left Tucson this morning to make the lovely drive back to Los Angeles. I took this photo at Dunkin' Donuts while my wife went inside to buy fuel for the trip. Directly under the balloon is Mount Lemmon (9157ft / 2791m), the highest point in the Santa Catalina mountains. I did a bit of editing with the color and such.

Today I visited the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, which is always a treat. The last time I went, I took this photo at the Raptor Free Flight program. We saw it again today, and it was still awesome, with slightly different birds. This hummingbird was not one of them.
I took this photo in the hummingbird exhibit - a walk-in aviary. Besides getting photos like this, the highlight was seeing a nesting hummingbird incredibly close up.
This is probably it for Tucson photos for a while. Tomorrow we head back to Los Angeles. Yay? Sure.
