Welcome to the One/Day Project
Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.
Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

This is one of my classmates in the Environmental Portraiture class I just started taking. Today we met at UCLA's Royce Hall to take photos of each other - it was fun! We focused on how light hits the face, and were assigned to take front, side and back-lit portraits.

Hey look, it's another photo of bricks! Well sorta. It's mostly of the cool shadows from the handrails on a staircase in the late afternoon.
My daily photos have been a little lackluster lately, so I'm really looking forward to Saturday when I'm doing a photo shoot for the class I'm taking. We're focusing on natural light on faces - should be fun!

What a good day! I accomplished things at work, our replacement window got completely installed, and we got to pick up my parents from the airport after their 2 week trip in SE Asia. Exciting times.
This photo, on the other hands, is not very exciting, although I hope you find it visually interesting. I walked around a bit this afternoon with contest DSS #94 on my mind - Angles and Shapes. Not sure I'll submit this one as my entry, but it's something.

This is a tree and lamp lined street in Westwood, where I hung out waiting for my Environmental Portraiture class to start. That's right - I'm taking a real live class! I've never taken a formal photography class before, so I'm pretty excited. So far, the class is cool! Expect to see quite a few portraits - along with some environment! - in the next few months.

Desperation shot of some Wilhelmina mints that we have. They're a Dutch thing, named after ... ? Someone of the royal persuasion. We got them in Orange City, IA last year.

This is the fountain at Howard Hughes Center - I photographed it back in Year 3, too. Today we saw Mission Impossible in IMAX, and I had totally forgotten that with it, you get a preview of The Dark Knight Rises. That was certainly awesome, but the scene was a little random out of context. Mission Impossible was pretty good, too. Better than I expected.
