Welcome to the One/Day Project
Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.
Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Near sunset, I ran outside to take a desperation shot of some palm trees near our house. Clouds had been rolling in all day, and they made a neat backdrop. It never rained, though.

This is Adele, a librarian friend of mine who agreed to be one of my subjects for my Environmental Portraiture class. It seemed fitting to shoot her with some books, and I liked these because of the color contrast. And I didn't even realize her glasses were blue at the time!
In case you're wondering, the blue books are the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. The red book she's holding is the Journal of Clinical Apheresis. I highly recommend reading them - they're just absolutely riveting.

I went to the Annenberg Space for Photography tonight to see Jodi Cobb speak. I was signed up to see her months ago, but it was cancelled at the last minute due to technical difficulties. It was worth the wait - what an amazing career she's had.

Ah, the different colors of light. After years of taking photos, I think I'm starting to get a real handle on it - I could tell this would be a cool photo, even though the colors weren't quite this blue and green to my eyes. The brain does interesting things.
In other news, OMG OMG DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE NEW D800??? HOLY CRAP. WANT.

Didya watch the super bowl? I saw the halftime show (eh...) and the last quarter (exciting!), but spent much of the time dealing with some new plants we got for our new bay window. We'd bought them last weekend but still needed some pots. We got them from Marina del Rey Garden Center, which turned out to be a really cool place - better than any of the other nurseries we've visited so far.
This photo is of a sort of gazebo-type structure at the nursery. It was pretty random, but really cool.
