Welcome to the One/Day Project
Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.
Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

I probably spent 30 minutes photographing my watch before giving up and taking a photo of this leaf instead. In real life, it's not quite this green, and the blues are actually reds.
My watch is really cool, though, and I hope to get a good photo of it later when I have a better setup, and possibly a lens that can focus closer.

It was pretty awesome to see my brother play his master recital yesterday, but sadly we had to make it a very quick trip - less than 24 hours. So, today I was back at work, where I took this photo of a bench.

This is my awesome brother as he warmed up before his master recital. He played great, there were a lot of people there, and we're all very proud.
He ended his recital with Steve Reich's Electric Counterpoint, which was pretty mind-blowing. I have since bought a recording and listened to it about 5 times. I highly recommend it, although it was much cooler to see it performed live. All of his pieces were really neat and covered a huge variety of styles.
I enjoyed taking photos beforehand, and it was reminiscent of his undergraduate recital, which happened back in Year 1 in the same place.

This photo is in honor of my late grandmother-in-law, who passed away about 3 weeks ago. She made this bell as a gift to my wife for her birthday when she was very little. Rest in peace, Dorothy.

Thanks to a super-thick marine layer, everything was wet this morning. Not the most pleasant thing, but great for photographing wet flowers. I'm not sure this rose could have handled any more moisture.

Happy Earth Day!
We went on a short hike this morning and saw nature in action - some California newts doing some reproducing. Although I think there are 7 newts in this photo, only two of them are actually mating and the rest are other males that want in on the action. At least that's what I read online.
We actually saw two of these scenes! Spring is in the air I guess.
This photo turned out OK, but most of the ones I took were throwaways because of reflection and distortion issues from shooting through the surface of the water.

This was not supposed to be the photo of the day. It's just a broken cable that I took a photo of at work so I could show what needed to be repaired. But, the way the flash and the white balance turned out make it interesting to me. It's kinda Instagrammy.

Since then, they demolished and rebuilt it into a much fancier eatery with a boring name (South Campus Building Where You Can Buy Food, or something like that).
