Giraffe Fight 3
Kruger National Park
This photo might look serene, but they're just taking a short break from whacking each other with their heads. It's a little weird to watch animals fight that don't' make any noise.
Giraffe Fight 4
Kruger National Park
This is a pretty good whack right here. I'd imagine their back hips are pretty sore at this point. I wish we could have figured out what they were fighting about. If it was females, they were nowhere in sight.
Giraffe Fight 5
Kruger National Park
Dark giraffe looks defeated, but it's actually just another break in the fighting. Our guide told us the color isn't significant, the left giraffe isn't older or anything like that. Just darker.
Warthog
Kruger National Park
I wasn't sure how often we'd see warthogs, but we saw them at least 4 times. This group was closest to the road.
Brown Snake Eagle
Kruger National Park
I took a break from photographing warthogs and turned around to get this shot of a brown snake eagle in a tree. I'm really impressed that our guide immediately knew what kind of bird this was from so far away.

Admit it, you find this sexy.
Elephants Eat Anything
Kruger National Park
It was neat to see this elephant so close to the road, but we wondered what on earth it was eating, as the area had recently burned. Our guide told us that elephants eat anything, including sticks and branches that no other animal would consider food. This is one reason they are essential to the ecosystem.
Lone Tree
Kruger National Park
This tree escaped the controlled burn that had recently been done.
Nyala Ears
Kruger National Park
This is the only nyala we saw outside of Marc's Treehouse Lodge. I can't believe the ears... they're ridiculous.
