Weekend trip to Joshua Tree National Park. It was very cold at times, and we stayed in a warm hotel in 29 Palms. We drove the Geology Tour road, hiked Ryan Mountain, watched the sunset from Keys View and hiked to 49 Palms oasis. Here are some of the best photos from the trip, enjoy!

Date palms at Shields Date Garden in Indio. We stopped here for all of our date needs, which included a pound of honey dates and a date milkshake. Highly recommended pit stop if you're driving through!
Lizard near the Cholla Cactus Garden on the main road through Joshua Tree.
Cholla Cactus Garden. I'm from the desert, so cactus doesn't impress me as much as some people, but this was an amazing amount of cholla, all in a tight little area. Very sharp, but very neat to see.
Arch Rock at the White Tank campground
Rock window at White Tank campground, near Arch Rock. Sorta looks like a hand giving an A-OK sign.
Skull Rock, which Ann and I agreed was a disappointment. Sure, it kinda looks like a skull, but the only reason it's so popular is because you barely have to get out of your car to see it. It is pretty neat looking though, even if I had to wait 5 minutes to get a shot w/out people in it.

Geology Tour road, a very neat drive! It says 4x4 recommended, but we did just fine in our all-wheel-drive Subaru Forester.
