3 remarkably cold days in New Orleans. Took a plantation tour, did a lot of walking around the Central Business District and French Quarter, ate lots of Southern cooking and only did a modest amount of drinking. I swear!

Sugar Kettle Reflection
Oak Alley Plantation
Until the 1940s, these massive kettles were used to process the sugar cane. They seem to be popular antique decorations now, used for water gardens, koi ponds, and reflecting pools.
Compact
French Quarter
One of my first views into the French Quarter - it's amazing how compact the area is. All of the buildings are very similar is some ways (3 stories, lots of brick, lots of iron), but yet they're all unique in design and color.
Quiet Street
French Quarter
This is Decatur Street, the one closest to the Mississippi. I like it because there were few cars this early in the morning on a Friday.

St. Louis Cathedral
French Quarter
Impressive cathedral in the French Quarter - the oldest continuously operated cathedral in the country. Of course, it wasn't part of our country back when it started...
St. Louis Cathedral

The highly-symmetrical facade is a result of a 1850 expansion and remodel.
Metal Sign

Cool old metal sign for Jack's Metal Arts.
