Along with my wife and mom-in-law, I visited Orange City, Iowa in late April for my grandmother-in-law's 100th birthday. The small town (pop. 6k) is a Dutch enclave with windmills, wooden shoes and over half a dozen reformed churches. Most of these photos are from a single day that we spent driving around. A few at the end are from Omaha, where we flew into and out of.

In addition to a dizzying array of meat, they had local wines and tons of Dutch treats, like Wilhemina mints and gross salty licorice. We bought a lot of stuff and were sad we couldn't buy any fresh meat - we did get some jerky, though.

The 'building' was closed when I stopped by, but I could see it was full of Dutch stuff. Obviously.

Bell Tower
American Reformed Church
You could hardly drive two blocks without passing some sort of reformed church. This one had a pretty cool bell tower.

Steeple Shadow
Curiously, this church lacked a sign saying what it was. I'm gonna assume it was a reformed church.

Tulip Bed
I must admit, it was a little sad to see all of the tulip plants coming up but no flowers. We'll have to come back for the tulip festival one of these years.

Sioux County Courthouse
Very cool building, very prominent in the town.
