Memorial Day weekend camping trip to King's Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. We camped at the Princess campground in Sequoia Nat'l Forest, just off route 180.

Tokopah Valley
The end of the trail, the falls are behind us. We picked a nice spot on the rocks above most other hikers to eat lunch.

Tokopah Valley
In this photo, the main falls are to the left, but you can still see water coming down the rocks. I'm sure these rocks would be dry later in the year. Note that there is still a decent amount of snow just a little higher than we were.

Tokopah Falls
On the right side of this photo you can see the cascading falls. That tree looks lonely. There are some hikers in the lower center to get an idea of scale.

Tokopah Valley
Near the start of the trail was this amazing view. The Marble Fork of the Kaweah River runs through this valley.

Wildflowers
Gotta love flowers that seem to grow right out of the rock. I laid down to get this shot.

General Sherman
The largest tree, and therefore largest living organism, on the planet. Though it's not the widest, tallest or oldest, there is more volume to this guy than any other known tree - 1487 cubic meters. That also makes it the heaviest at 1385 tons.
