Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

_11/23/12_ Dusk at the Lake
My wife at Big Bear Lake after sunset. It was really nice to be there and see the beauty of the place. It had been a long time since either of us had been to the mountains.

[last year] welcome to death...
_11/22/12_ Thanksgiving Portrait
This is my wife and I before heading out to Thanksgiving dinner at Big Bear Lake. It's a bit engagement-portrait-y, but it was fun.
In past years we've done some major trips around Thanksgiving, because it's also around our wedding anniversary. This year was a bit more low-key and did not include any national parks. It was pretty relaxing though, and we'd never been to Big Bear before. It's quite a fun mountain town, and it's much bigger than I thought.
WIll be posting a gallery of photos soon.

Self Portrait 2
We had a lot of fun playing around the sculpture, as did everyone. There was a pretty big crowd.
Self Portrait 1
Directly underneath, in the center of Cloud Gate, there's a spot where it becomes a non-distorted mirror. Can you see me and my wife, pointing the camera up?
__01/21/12__ Windy Wife
Here's my wife, holding a smile while she gets blown back and forth near the ocean. Of course I always like taking photos of her, but this was specifically for the class I mentioned yesterday and a few other times over the past couple weeks. The main takeaway from this shot is that her face is correctly exposed, even though there are several places that are blown out, and of course the background is all but featureless.
We had a storm we had last night that cleared up pretty early in the morning, but the wind has stayed all day. I really like this shot because of the way her hair is blowing - it looks nice. Many of the other photos were quite... chaotic.

[last year] unexpectedly awesome...
