Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

4th Level
This 10-shot panorama was taken on the 4th level in the Capitol dome. The portraits of governors line the walls on all 4 levels - when a new governor comes in, every painting gets moved down a spot. Eventually they'll run out of room.

Bats!
This is what the underside of the Congress Street bridge looks like when you blind the bats with an SB800. I feel kind of bad for disturbing them, but it's a pretty cool shot. Also, there are ~1.4 million bats, so I only disturbed a tiny percentage of them. This is also known as the Bat Bridge, and people line up along it to watch them emerge every evening - the largest urban bat colony in North America. The locals tell me that on a good night (where they all emerge at once), the sky is black with them. Tonight wasn't a 'good' night, but there were still plenty to be seen.

Highways
Somewhere near the 360 and 183.
Scenic View
Downtown Austin in the distance.
Alamo Light
This cool film reel lamp was in the Alamo Theater. It's an 18+ theater where you can buy food and drinks right from your seat. There's space in between the stadium seating for your server to walk through and take/deliver your order.
We saw inception, and instead of previews like normal theaters, they showed all sorts of dream and Leonardo DeCaprio-related footage. For example, cheesy commercials starring Leo when he was about 10 years old and more recent ones in Japanese, as well as the music video for Dream Police by Cheap Trick.
Giant Boot
Kind of random - but very Texas-y - this boot and another just like it was outside the Salt Lick.
Sauce
Giant vat of BBQ sauce next to the grill at the Salt Lick
