Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

Boater
A lot of locals cruised back and forth along the main beach in small canoes. As you can tell by this guys' method of movement, the water is very shallow.

Just a simple daytime scene of the marina here in LA. If I'd known this was the only photo I would take today, I would have spent a bit more time on it... oh well.

Fishing
This guy sure had a small boat... but the water was very calm so I suppose it's OK. I'm sure he knew what he was doing.

Splash
Lava Entry Point, Hawaii
I could have watched this for hours. Seeing the waves splash against the glowing lava was pretty amazing. Even parts of the nearby ocean were steaming.
Steaming
Lava Entry Point, Hawaii
One last look before we headed back. What an amazing, awe-inspiring sight. I'm so glad we got to experience it.
Lava Viewers
Lava Entry Point, Hawaii
These hikers were incredibly close to the lava entry point - I was a little jealous that they didn't have to endure the bobbing ocean in a little boat like we did. Then again, we got a better view :)
Lava
Lava Entry Point, Hawaii
Wow.
Here's where it all happens - molten rock pours into the ocean and instantly vaporizes sea water into giant plumes of steam. This was an incredible sight, and I highly recommend taking one of these lava boat tours.
Although you can sometimes see a surface lava flow, your best bet is to take a boat here, where the lava emerges after traveling underground.
Depth Reflections
Honolulu, Oahu
A boat docked near Aloha Tower - I think it was a sunset dinner cruise boat. I like how the reflections of the numbers turned out - I didn't plan that :)
_11/21/10_ USS Utah
Hawaii Day 2
This is part of the USS Utah, one of the 3 ships sunk on 12/7/41 that was not put back into service. On the other side of Ford Island lies the USS Arizona.
We also visited some places on Hickam AFB - it's nice to be staying with military folks :)
In the evening we went a luau at Paradise Cove. Such fun!
This place is so beautiful!
