Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

Arrowhead Dock
On our way back home, we stopped by Lake Arrowhead, just because. There was a lot more emphasis on shopping there, so I'm glad we didn't stick around too long.
I imagine this dock is much more utilized in the summer. On this day, there was an empty canoe and these 3 guys in the distance - all other spots were empty.
Also, there were tons of ducks.
__02/19/12__ Natural Habitat
Today we went whale watching in Long Beach. We saw none. NONE! We did see a lot of dolphins, however, and this trio of sea lions basking on a buoy. Back on shore, the announcer kept telling the next group that they might "see California sea lions in their natural habitat!". Not exactly.
I was pretty unimpressed with the crew's way of dealing with no sightings - they just played it off like it was a wonderful trip because "we saw a lot of dolphins, which are actually a type of whale!" The hell with that - I didn't pay $60 to see common dolphins. At the very least, a discount on a future trip would have been nice.
It was fun, though, and we had a nice relaxing lunch afterwards. And then we went to IKEA, for no reason at all. We'd never been before, and it was crazy!!! We have not planned a return trip at this time...

Pemba Dive
This wasn't the boat we took snorkeling - it belonged to the other dive shop on the beach. It certainly depended on the light, but the water really was beautiful.
Canoe
Dude on a boat.
Boats and Nets
Along the beach there were canoes and nets. I'm not sure why the nets are covered by palm fronds...
Pieter
This is the owner of the dive shop that took us out on the boat. The snorkeling was a lot of fun, and 1.5 hours just flew by.
We saw amazing sea stars, puffer fish, eels, sea cucumbers, multiple clownfish families, and lots of other colorful fish. We saw some really impressive corals, but unfortunately there were some large dead areas as well.
Pemba Port
I like the hand-painted wood sign telling you not to enter. The semis in the background are loading gear from a ship.
Shipwreck
The same couple in front of a modern shipwreck, with a dhow in the distance.
