Welcome to the One/Day Project
Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.
Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

I was pulled out of my house this evening by a glowing orange sky that then turned more of a pink color. Everything had this great warm glow, and although it's a little bit exaggerated in this photo, I hope I captured the feeling of it. Magic hour, indeed.

![2013-04-13 Graceful Curves
A high-contrast photo of the 10E/405N interchange, which we had to use to make our way to the Burbank IKEA store. We're on the hunt for a sleeper sofa but since most of what IKEA makes is crap, we did not get anything. We did eat have a lovely dinner at an Italian restaurant nearby so it was OK and worth the trip, despite the annoying stretch pictured here.

![2013-04-10 Vehicle in Motion
I made this image out the passenger window of our car around sunset driving down Santa Monica Boulevard. Don't worry, I wasn't driving. It's a blend of 16 images using the Average Camera Pro iPhone app. I recommend the app! It's fun for things like this, but designed so you can get low-noise images in low-light situations (provided you can keep the phone perfectly still).

![2013-03-13 Heavy Fog
This morning was one of those ultra-thick fog days, which we don't get too often. This view is looking down my street; you could only see about half a block.
Thanks for all the comments on yesterday's photo - I had fun making it and I'm glad y'all like it.
In other news, I am now enrolled in Photojojo University! In a couple weeks I'll be starting Phoneography 101 with Professor Pancake. For reals. Want to join me? Just go to the Photojojo Store and buy the class - it's only $5, so why not?

![__01/19/13__ Wheel Interior
I did a pretty good job on the symmetry with this photo, but of course I can't control the sun. I could have changed the orientation of the wheel to get the shadows straight, I suppose, but it wasn't my wheel to mess with. It was inside a tire shop that I had the unfortunate duty of visiting this morning thanks to 2 nails that decided to make their home in our right rear tire. But it's fixed now, in time for our jaunt down to San Diego - stay tuned for photos from there.

![_10/13/12_ Endeavour in the Streets
Tonight I joined thousands of others in welcoming the space shuttle Endeavour to its new home at the California Science Center. Yesterday and today, it made its way on surface streets from LAX, about 12 miles away.
I first went to the CSC itself, but after hearing it was delayed, I jumped on my bike to meet it on its route. I still had to wait a while, but it was well worth it. The left wing passed right over my head and it slooooowly made its way north on Crenshaw Blvd.
I have more to say about it, so check out the 'ol blog [coming soon...]
Update - whoa, it still hasn't arrived on Sunday morning. I feel bad for the people that were waiting there for it.
