Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

Students
We felt like celebrities in the classroom. After we talked for a while (so they could practice their English) we all took photos. At least half the class came up to have their photo taken with my wife and I. At the end I turned the tables and took a photo of all of them.
Classroom
We waited until our last full day to visit the classroom where our friends teach English. These are their students, who will go on to teach primary school. They were incredibly professional and all stood up to greet us when we entered the room. And of course, you can see the way they're dressed.
Primary School
Exterior view of a neighborhood primary school.
Classroom
Although the doors were locked (it was Sunday), we peeked into this 2-room neighborhood primary school. It's sad to see how few resources they have.
_04/29/11_ Unlicensed Elmo is Destroyed
This is Sal, who recently became an ex-coworker. This photo is at his going away party, where it was important to set aside any preconceived notions about piñatas.
We stuffed an unlicensed Elmo piñata wtih candy, $1 bills and cigarettes. We hung Elmo between two mounted TVs using a long Ethernet cable and Sal smashed it with a golf club, with no blindfold. It was pretty awesome, I highly recommend it for your next children's party.
We'll all miss Sal, but we sure sent him off in style. For more photos of Elmo around campus (before his grisly death), click here.
