Jonathan Wilson (jawsnap) > _12/22/09_ Faucet
Today I drove South to Sonoita and stopped at the Empire Ranch, which has a bunch of old buildings that you can visit. This sink was in the cowboy's quarters, built around 1871. Apparently it's still a working ranch, but the historic buildings have been turned over to the BLM, and most of them are being repaired so they don't collapse.
It's pretty neat, and the area is beautiful. I'll try and post more pics later. I took a lot of shots, but this one was my favorite.

Grabbed this shot of a white faucet on a black tile wall while I was out walking tonight. The wall is very large and monotonous, so it really sticks out.

By the way, my wife and I are gearing up for a train trip up the West coast for 2 weddings. We'll be in the Bay Area, Portland and Seattle. I'll be doing my daily photo via iPhone, like I did for my Maine trip earlier this summer. Any suggestions for the trip? Things to see, do, places to eat?

Jonathan Wilson (jawsnap) > _03/29/09_ Bathroom Sink
Got the lighting by using a waterproof remote flash unit, a.k.a. an SB-800 in a ziplock bag. I thought the sink would look neat illuminated from below, so I played around. I was a little nervous turning on the water, but the bag kept the flash perfectly dry. Did some tweaking in Lightroom, including painting the blue tint on the water. As interesting as the lighting is, I thought a subtle touch of color would make it a stronger image.

Thanks for all the comments on yesterday's photo - you guys must all really like mac & cheese ;)

The hot water faucet on an all-metal sink. I like the reflections that come with having lots of shiny surfaces. Ooh, shiny! Although there is color in some of the reflections, I liked how the bright red label dominates everything else. There is a green label that says "CW" on the other side. I used levels and curves to adjust the contrast in Photoshop.
