Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

El Potrillo Cafe
Ok, the rooster made sense, but I'm not sure why a horse is representative of this restaurant. But hey, they serve both Mexican food AND Sea food! I've always wanted to take a cruise to Sea.
Statue
One of the several giant statues on the Capitol grounds.
_06/29/10_ Dala Horses
Two dala horses that we got from my parents when they visited over the weekend. They were originally at my grandfather's house and I believe he purchased them in Sweden when he visited some relatives there. They were made by Nils Olsson.

_06/14/09_ Pretty Shoes
Most of the shoes in this photo have human feet in them, but you may notice the the smallest pair has hooves. This was taken at the Special Olympics at CSU Long Beach this morning where my wife and I volunteered. This miniature horse is used in animal therapy. We also met a few therapy dogs and therapy bunnies.
I wish the lighting hadn't been so harsh, but fill flash helped (although it completely blew out the horse owners' left shoe). Lowering the contrast in LR also helped.

3/2/08
This was the scene during the LA Marathon 5K that I participated in. You don't often see horses in the middle of Los Angeles, but hey, whatever. The 5K route made a U-turn about a quarter mile past this house, and the kid was still standing there on the way back (we were walking, btw).
