Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

I've been playing around with Slow Shutter Cam, which seems to be the premier iPhone app for that purpose. It's not truly a slow shutter speed, but it simulates it pretty cleverly and allows some neat in-camera photos. This one is me spinning around in a chair. It took a bit of experimentation to get something interesting.
I find it neat that the EXIF data shows an exposure of 4 seconds, even though it's many exposures blended together, or however the app works exactly.

I would have spent a bit more time on this photo if I'd known it would end up being the photo of the day. But if that's the price I pay for having a lovely time at happy hour with folks from work, I'm OK with it.
What you're seeing here is my iPhone hooked up to a big display with the camera app open. As you can see, it creates a video loop so that the camera app screen goes off into infinity. It's fun stuff, let me tell you.
