Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

Skyline Farewell
And finally, let's end it with a skyline shot. I took this with my phone out the window of the train that took us back to Midway airport.
Gravitron
If you pay a mere $5, you can have the Toymaker 3000 create a personalized Gravitron for you. A Gravitron is basically a gyrosope - it comes with a zipline to get it going, and a little stand to set it on after it starts. Someone unfamiliar with gyroscope will be amazed that it doesn't fall off.
The Toymaker 3000 shows and explains every step in the assembly line process, from the raw pieces to the personalized laser engraving to the finished, packaged product. The whole thing is just fascinating, and well worth your $5.
Molecule Maze
I couldn't resist getting a quick self portrait in this mirror maze.
Bubbles!
The Museum of Science and Industry blew my mind. It was such a cool place, particularly the severe weather stuff. It was so cool (...how cool was it?) that I barely took any photos of the interior. Also, it was pretty terrible lighting.
This photo is of a bunch of bubbles where they talked about petroleum and all the wonderful and horrible things we do with it.
Under the El
Sadly, this is the only photo I got of the train tracks from underneath. I do like it though, with the lone figure in the distance.
Grand Staircase
Some art lovers climbing the Grand Staircase at the Art Institute of Chicago. We had to check our bag, so I only got a few iPhone photos inside.
_04/09/12_ Nothing
A photo of nothing?? Of course not. This is my ceiling! Amazing, isn't it?
So yeah... I feel quite terrible and so this is is a lame desperation shot. Hopefully I can sleep it off.

_04/08/12_ Overhead Lamp
Happy Easter! This photo has absolutely nothing to do with it. It's a lamp on the side of Santa Monica Seafood that happened to be over my head as I walked by.
Hope you had a great weekend.

Chicago Trip, Day +1
Day +1 is my way of saying that we were still in Chicago today but didn't' do anything except travel to the airport and fly home. The only photos I took were quick snapshots like this. This particular spot is where we caught the Orange Line to take us to Midway.
We had a great time seeing sights, learning things, meeting up with friends and eating way too much food. I'm looking forward to sharing more photos so stay tuned!

More Chicago photos!
