Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

Gray Whale Tail & Spout
Boulder Bay
A picturesque pair of islands in the lake. We stopped here when we first arrived, and one of the first things we saw was a woman with tons of makeup all decked out in weird fashion clothing with a tiny dog in similar clothing, chatting on her phone. Apparently it takes more than a windy mountain road to get away from Los Angeles.
Regardless of that, there was a nice little park where you can admire the pretty boulders.

Dive Tower
Ford Island, Pearl Harbor, Oahu
I would never have known what this was if I hadn't been told. To train divers, they'd fill the tower with water and the divers would go in from the top. It looks cool and old :)

Hangar Door Track
Ford Island, Pearl Harbor, Oahu
There used to be a hangar here, and the doors of that hangar ran on this track. Near this spot, my cousin pointed out a spot where a bomb exploded from the attack on 12/7/41.

USS Utah
USS Utah Memorial, Pearl Harbor, Oahu
The Utah is on the other side of Ford Island from the Arizona. Those two, along with the Oklahoma were the only 3 ships that were not put back into service after the attack.
I found the Utah to be a much more striking memorial because although it is a smaller ship, so much more is visible above the water. In addition, it's on the military base, so the general public was not around.
