Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

Rawr!
Train Car
Paul Kruger House, Pretoria
There's an office, a kitchen and a bathroom. It's neat.
Dining
Paul Kruger House, Pretoria
After we saw his likeness in Church Square, we visited Paul Kruger's old house, which is now a museum. To be honest, we weren't that impressed, because we've seen old rich houses before. This house is nice, but it's got nothing on a Newport, RI mansion.
Our tour guide, however, was pretty enamored. He kept saying "it must be good to be President!" - seriously, he said it at least 5 times to us. He seemed to have no concept that leading a country is a lot of responsibility, he just thought you get a lot of cool stuff.
Not Eagle Feet
Kruger National Park
This was when the eagle basically fell out of the tree - and when we realized it was holding onto a dead bird. See? Those are its feet. Such beautiful wings, though.
Hippo Pano
Kruger National Park
This is a 7-shot panorama of the hippos seen in the previous photo. You can see how many there are, how fat they all are, and how most of them are asleep. You can also see how the hippos and crocs live harmony. I bet there's a folk tale about it...
Burning Bush
Kruger National Park
This was a controlled burn near the Orpen gate entrance. We saw a lot of past burns throughout the park, so it was interesting to see one in progress.
Jackal
Kruger National Park
A small jackal running along the road right around sunset.
Lip Licking
Kruger National Park
Maybe it had just eaten? Perhaps that would explain the super-relaxed behavior?
Shortly after this photo, it walked into the bush and disappeared out of view, leaving us all smiling.
