Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Barnacles A concrete column that holds an elevated pipe was pretty well covered. The tide was coming in when I was there - you can see about how high it gets.
Bird Anyone know what this is? It liked to dive a lot - that's what the ripples are from, it had just come back up.
Duck in Flight Lucky catch of a duck in flight. I like how it came out sharp and in shadow, while the duck in the background is in the sun. Like I said... lucky.
Three Birds Almost sunrise...
Black Skimmer I didn't see it catch anything, but it sure is fun to watch. This was my runner-up for the photo of the day.
Dead Crab At least 18 inches across... one of the bigger, cooler things I've seen washed up.
Malibu Pier One of the few piers in the area I've never been on, just before sunrise. I'll have to make it a point to come here another time.
_04/16/11_ Three As promised in yesterday's photo, I went to the Malibu Lagoon this morning to take photos at sunrise. It was hard to choose a favorite, so I asked my Facebook fans to help, and they chose this one. Are you a fan of me on Facebook? You should be, it's the most exciting thing you can ever do ever.
