Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

Another Christmas-y desperation photo today. This little snowman has some red and blue lights inside that blink. It's fascinating.
To get the shot, I used my S95 and my SB800 that I had set up from the previous 2 days. I fired the flash manually with one hand while manipulating the camera with the other. It took quite a few tries to get what I was going for.

I spent a good portion of my day making this led sign work. It's a big scrolling sign that displays text, like you'd see in Times Square, but just a wee bit smaller. It's installed vertically, so this shot is actually looking straight down. It looked really cool from this angle, but I'm not sure this still photo does it justice, so you might see another shot of it in the future.

For the past few weeks, if not months, our internet has been... sucky. We pay for 10 mbps download speed but were only getting 1.5 and it often dropped out. The cable guy came and replaced our modem and most of the wiring, and now we're getting over 30 - Sweetness!
In honor of this great achievement, I photographed the happily blinking LEDs on the front of the modem and router. I experimented a lot with zooming and rotating the camera while physically moving closer. I got a lot of neat swirly patterns, this being the most interesting. I saw a happy face and now I can't un-see it.

These light on the left mounts on my handlebars so people don't turn into me. The light on the right attaches to my backpack and prevents people from running me over from behind. So far they are 100% effective.
I changed the hue from red to blue in Photoshop, after cranking up the contrast in Lightroom.

This is a closeup of one of those seizure-inducing drink glasses that lights up with all sorts of different colors. We got them last night when we went to the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney. This is pretty much a desperation shot, but I like how the water drops add a little something.
