Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

2013-04-01 Light Streaks
Quick shot of some interesting light in New York City.
April fools! It's Los Angeles, cause that's where I live. Gotcha.

[last year] hello Chicago...
2013-03-23 Red Light
Flew into Tucson today, ate at Casa Molina. Delicious. This red light was in a little alcove near our table.

2013-03-17 Green Drink
Happy Saint Patrick's Day! I celebrated by sharing a cup of green Bailey's with my wife. It was tasty. We're pretty low-key people for the most part, unlike the people that were at a nearby pub that opened at 8am today.
For this photo I wanted the glow of the green liquid, so I chose transparent water rather than opaque irish cream. But it's still green, and that's the important part.
Did you know green is the official color of St. Patrick? It's because it's the opposite color of snakes.

[last year] My mom-in-law's desktop background! At least it was last time I saw her computer...

__02/15/13__ Light Pole
This light pole also made an appearance about a month ago, but there were no clouds that day. As you can see, there were some pretty cool clouds today. In Lightroom, I basically just lowered the saturation to zero and raised the clarity to 100, not much else.

Oh, and don't forget to check out my San Diego photos!

__02/05/13__ ¡New Toy Alert!
This lens flare is coming out of (yes, out) my new 28-300mm lens that I just got in the mail. It also came with a D600. That's right, folks: I'm going full frame.
I set up for a much more involved photo where my 'old' D7000 was back to back with the new D600 with their 28-300 and 18-200 lenses. I shined a flashlight into the D7000 and because the eye pieces were lined up, the light traveled through one camera, into the other and out the D600's lens, and then I was going to take a photo from above, showing both cameras. Make sense? Well no matter, it didn't really work how I originally envisioned. Way too dim. Maybe I'll try a laser next time. If only I had a laser...
But enough of my rambling, I got a new camera! Yay!

__02/02/13__ Concrete Sky
This was taken from a parking lot under a freeway. I like how clearly you can see the wood pattern in the concrete.

__01/17/13__ Three Lightpoles
Desperation shot in a parking lot as I rode my bike home. Last work day for a week! Will be in SD for a few days next week, should be fun.

[last year] fun photos are everywhere...
