Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

Sadly, we saw no llamas.
_04/17/10_ Street Llama
Went to Apple store on 3rd St. Promenade to get a new laptop. They didn't have the one we wanted in stock. Walked outside the store and - hey! It's a llama!
Llamas are a rare sight in LA, so we were a tad bit surprised. So was everyone else, judging by the crowd. I'm not sure who this guy was or what point he wanted to get across. I wish I'd gotten a better photo, but like I said, there was a crowd. Also it was dark and this was shot with a phone. The poor technical quality can't hide their expressions though :)

PS - every time I see a llama I think of the Far Side cartoon titled Llamas at Home ("Llook out Llarry, it's the llandllord!")

_05/17/09_ Bolivian Flute
After being away for a few days, I've caught up on posting my daily photos. Here's the first on-time one since Tuesday.
This is a flute from Bolivia - a gift from my parents who went there recently. It's impressively carved and, like the other gifts, features a llama. It's fairly easy to play, but if you blow hard, it gets very piercing - like a piccolo. The other thing I find neat about this is it's weight - the wood is unbelievably light.
For the first time ever (!) click here for the setup. I've tried to remember to take photos of interesting setups, but usually forget until after everything's put away.
