Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

Lights at Night
City lights abstract taken from the train at night. Unfortunately we didn't get far after this photo was taken - we were stopped for 3 hours at the Van Nuys station because of a bomb threat.
Trains
Interesting sort-of symmetry at the Goleta Amtrak station just before sunset.
Eucalyptus Sunset
The sun set while we were back at the Goleta Amtrak station (just a platform). With dark clouds in the background, these eucalyptus just exploded.
Oso Flaco Lake
I wish I had more time to photograph the lake, but I spent most of my time at the dunes. When we first passed the lake on the way to the dunes, it was pouring rain.
Boardwalk
A straight section of the boardwalk that leads from the parking lot all the way to the ocean. Note the huge variety of vegetation.
Tracks
Another view of the 4x4 area
Tracks
Great post-rain afternoon light illuminating the sand where the 4x4s drive.
Sand
Thanks to vehicles, no vegetation grows here... but it looks pretty neat.
