Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

I went minimalist today. The parking lot near our house got paved and painted this morning, and it was all taped off for it to dry. I knew that as soon as cars started driving on it, it would never have the dramatic, unspoiled black and white contrast, so I took a photo. Not exactly glamorous, but interesting. To me, anyways.

Cooking Oil
Those are water bottles, filled with cooking oil.
Oil and Flowers
USS Arizona Memorial, Pearl Harbor, Oahu
One older gentleman was throwing flowers off the memorial into the water where a lot of the oil had collected. It made for a powerful "tears of the Arizona" scene.
Oil
USS Arizona Memorial, Pearl Harbor, Oahu
Apparently the USS Arizona had just been topped off with fuel oil right before the attack took place, and as a result it is still seeping out nearly 60 years later.
If you want to see it, go early in the morning before the water gets more choppy.
