Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

_03/08/12_ Black Daisies
It was kind of a hectic day today, and I didn't find any time to get outside for a photo. Instead, I took five photos of some daisies that we have and smooshed them together into this Photoshop creation. There was layering, there was masking, there was inverting, there were effects, but in the end I'm not really sure what I did. Just played around, mostly.

In other news, I was featured on the campus staff and faculty news! Check me out!

Rose petals! That's what these are!

_10/23/11_ Wet Petal
Desperation shot of a couple flower petals that I sprayed with water...
Stay tuned for a gallery of aquarium photos and a blog post comparing the iPhone 4S/4 cameras. I did a lot of work on those today, but so far no finished products... but soon!

_10/19/11_ Petal Edges
I like how this desperation shot turned out. I forget what kind of flowers these are, but their petals are all pretty much flush with each other, so I thought I'd try and get a shot where only the very edge of the petals were in focus. I really like how the colors turned out.
Although none of them were photo-of-the-day worthy, I did take more iPhone comparison shots and hope to post the results this weekend. It really is amazing the quality that's coming out of this little thing in my pocket. It makes me excited for the future.

[last year] perhaps my favorite iPhone 4 photo...

Tulip Petals
_03/10/11_ Twolips
These two tulip petals came from a bouquet of tulips that I bought on Sunday - only four days and they're already falling apart! That's why we normally try to buy flowers from the farmer's market and not the grocery store.
Anyways, I thought they were pretty, and played around with different arrangements and lighting the lighting setup is pretty much the same as my 3/1/11 photo. The color reminds me of my 1/26/10 photo, also of tulips.
