Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

It rained today, and I found this puddle on a piece of wood that nicely reflected the clearing sky.

[last year] too much drama... but i'm back...

A fountain at the Westfield mall in Century City. I grabbed dinner there before heading to the Annenberg to see Ben Lowy give a talk. He's done some really amazing conflict work, and has been a pioneer by using his iPhone as a legitimate photojournalism tool. He also curses much more than the average presenter, so that was fun, too!
While not photojournalism, I did use an iPhone to take this photo of the water. Just sayin'.

Thanks for the comments on yesterday's daisy photo. I can see how the misting might be a little overdone but I actually like it, because it wasn't really supposed to look natural in general. I appreciate the feedback, though!

This is the building I work in, reflected in a pool out front. The image was rotated, had some contrast added, and some floating debris painted out. Otherwise it's true to the original. Pretty cool-looking if I may say so myself.

_12/14/11_ Night Inversion
Due to an unexpected holiday party, I stayed at work a little later than usual. It allowed me to photograph some fountains without that pesky daylight forcing me to use fast shutter speeds. This is the Inverted Fountain, also seen in this gallery on 9/1/11. The crazy sheen on the water is due to the reflection of a bright light mounted on the nearby building. I was surprised the colors came out the way they did, but I like it.

In other news, I added a few photos of my wife and I to the Death Valley gallery. You know, to give it a nice human touch.

[last year] I won a prize with this photo and a pair of pants on the day this photo was taken...
