Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

Cool building. I took this shot shortly before we boarded the train for Seattle.
Four-way Fountain
We learned on our "underground tour" that these fountains were installed in 1912, and they constantly put out water from a lake. Seems rather wasteful, and it's kind of weird to drink from them. They're pretty common downtown.
Stalin Says...
This is a bench in Powell's Books, a pretty awesome store. Could have spent many more hours there.
Big Pink
Apparently that's what this building is nicknamed. The materials used for the exterior and windows make it change color depending on the light, but it's pinkish most of the time. It's one of the tallest buildings in Portland and was right next to our hotel, making it a very handy landmark.
Pink Dress
I can't imagine what they're talking about. They don't look particularly happy, though.

Haiku
"Here, miles from Japan, I stand as if warmed by the spring sunshine of home."
Portland has a great Japanese garden, but after visiting the ones in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco and the Huntington in LA, I think those are better.
