Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

_06/22/11_ Fly Hook
Are you hooked? Then I'd recommend getting a tetanus shot very soon. Cause the hook is rusty. Haha...
This is a fly, for fly fishing. I've been several times, but not for a long time. I was pretty into it, I even had a fly-tying kit for a while! This is not one of them, my flies look terrible and no self-respecting fish would try to eat them.
Speaking of self-respecting fish, check out my new blog post on the 300mm lens I rented two weekends ago! True, it has nothing to do with fish, but check it out anyways!

In other news, this story features a photo of the same guy from my 5/12/11 daily!

_03/06/11_ Porthole
This nicely scratched up window is on a door in Venice Beach, where we met some friends for lunch earlier today. It's hard to tell with the scratches, but you can sort of see my reflection as I took shot. I have no idea what this door leads to, but there was a security camera trained on it. My guess is... mob hangout?
I'm also happy to be posting the first non-flower photo of Year 4 :)

Rusty
Hickam AFB, Oahu
There were a lot of old rusty parts on this section of the coast, and some looked pretty cool. We even saw some sort of cage just off the coast. Weird.
Utah Detail
USS Utah Memorial, Pearl Harbor, Oahu
Rust on the USS Utah.
USS Utah
USS Utah Memorial, Pearl Harbor, Oahu
The Utah is on the other side of Ford Island from the Arizona. Those two, along with the Oklahoma were the only 3 ships that were not put back into service after the attack.
I found the Utah to be a much more striking memorial because although it is a smaller ship, so much more is visible above the water. In addition, it's on the military base, so the general public was not around.

Rusty Turret
USS Arizona Memorial, Pearl Harbor, Oahu
The most prominent part of the ship that sits above the water. The memorial straddles the ship in the center, and there are buoys to mark the bow and stern - it is big.

Hawaii Day 2
This is part of the USS Utah, one of the 3 ships sunk on 12/7/41 that was not put back into service. On the other side of Ford Island lies the USS Arizona.
We also visited some places on Hickam AFB - it's nice to be staying with military folks :)
In the evening we went a luau at Paradise Cove. Such fun!
This place is so beautiful!

More Hawaii Photos!
