Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Fairfax High School How fancy is this? It's not exactly one of your poorer LAUSD schools.

Group Photo Here's my wife and I with our friends in the Peace Corps. We took the photo right outside their house just before we left for the airport.
School Grounds The school grounds were beautiful. Rarely did we see any other buildings or houses with real landscaping.
Students We felt like celebrities in the classroom. After we talked for a while (so they could practice their English) we all took photos. At least half the class came up to have their photo taken with my wife and I. At the end I turned the tables and took a photo of all of them.
Classroom We waited until our last full day to visit the classroom where our friends teach English. These are their students, who will go on to teach primary school. They were incredibly professional and all stood up to greet us when we entered the room. And of course, you can see the way they're dressed.

Classroom Although the doors were locked (it was Sunday), we peeked into this 2-room neighborhood primary school. It's sad to see how few resources they have.
