Welcome to the One/Day Project
Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.
Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

I kinda sorta struggled with the title on this one. I set the aperture to f/1.4 on my 50mm lens for this shot - it's of our wall sconce. I pointed various lamps at it to get more interesting shadows and so I could get a decent shutter speed. Colors were played with in Lightroom.

I kinda sorta struggled with the title on this one. I set the aperture to f/1.4 on my 50mm lens for this shot - it's of our wall sconce. I pointed various lamps at it to get more interesting shadows and so I could get a decent shutter speed. Colors were played with in Lightroom.

This was our big project for the day - hanging the candleholder we got from Crate and Barrel. The C&B website calls it a candelholder, but the documentation called it a sconce. Sconce is a more fun word, so it gets the title. After we hung it, I turned off the lights and set up the tripod to get this shot. I added the split toning color effect in Lightroom.
UPDATE: Aagh! One of the candles was out! I didn't even notice while I was editing the photo. Oh well... you can pretend it's purposely symbolic.
