Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

2013-03-05 Plot
You might be wondering what this is, and I will tell you. It's a closeup of a pollen-covered spiderweb on a rough metal sculpture. I think it looks a bit like a 3D scatter plot.

__02/26/13__ Corner
This photo is of a sculpture called Column by William Turnbull, created in 1970. It's basically a tall steel rectangle, and this photo is looking down the column onto the base.
I have a photo planned for tomorrow and the day after that, which will be the last day of Year 5! Then on Friday it's onto Year 6, I suppose... can't stop now! Will I ever? Hard to say...

__02/04/13__ Torqued Shadows
This shadow of a tree is being cast on Torqued Ellipse, a massive metal sculpture by Richard Serra that's at UCLA. It's actually called T.E.U.C.L.A., because there are multiple other Torqued Ellipses around the world. I may have done a teensy bit of editing in Lightroom. Just a tad.
I was hoping to receive and exciting delivery today, which would have probably been my photo of the day, but alas, the UPS guy decided to deliver before 4pm when I was at work. Hopefully tomorrow!

_05/24/12_ Brass Camera
I was really excited to get this new camera, until an evil spirit turned it to brass to spite me. The spirit materialized to mock me, so we fought and I destroyed him with spicy sauce. And yet, the camera remains brass and I know not how to lift the spell.
Some days... you know?

Creepy Statue
Why, oh why, would you put a statue like this on your house? There were actually multiple copies of this.
Picasso Slide
One of the best things about the Picasso sculpture is that it has a built-in slide! This child is taking advantage, as many larger children did before him. Fun stuff.
Picasso Sculpture
Here's 'The Picasso' (it's actually untitled) in front of the courthouse.
Picasso Sculpture
This abstract sculpture sits in front of the Daley Center, and was created by Pablo Picasso. It's pretty cool and random.
Marilyn
I had heard about this Marilyn Monroe statue a few months ago, but I didn't really appreciate how giant it is (not that this photo helps with that...).
Every time we walked or rode by it, someone would walk underneath, look up her skirt, and then smile to have their photo taken. Men, women, kids... it was a spectacle.
