Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

2013-05-09 Pink Sky
I was pulled out of my house this evening by a glowing orange sky that then turned more of a pink color. Everything had this great warm glow, and although it's a little bit exaggerated in this photo, I hope I captured the feeling of it. Magic hour, indeed.

2013-05-06 Pool of Clouds
It rained today, and I found this puddle on a piece of wood that nicely reflected the clearing sky.

[last year] too much drama... but i'm back...

OH HELL YES WE JUMPED OUT OF IT!!!
My wife's birthday is coming up and with all we went through last year she wanted to do something fun and crazy, and picked skydiving. It was amazing and I'd love to do it again. We went with Skydive Coastal California based out of the Camarillo Airport.
We were both nervous, of course, but mostly excited. The scariness of freefall lasted about 1 second for me, and then it was all adrenaline. As fun as that was, I actually enjoyed it more once the parachute opened because I got to control it and spin around and the wind wasn't trying to blow the skin off of my face.
We followed it up with a delicious dinner in Ventura at Bombay where the Shoemaker Brothers were playing. What a great day.

[last year] too cold to jump out of...
__02/02/13__ Concrete Sky
This was taken from a parking lot under a freeway. I like how clearly you can see the wood pattern in the concrete.

__01/14/13__ Trees on Fire
This photo was double edited - once on my phone using Snapseed, and again in Lightroom. I'm not sure I like it much, but it's the only photo I took today :)

_12/29/12_ Clouds at Sunset
I took this shot at my parents house in Tucson, tomorrow we head home.
With my wife being in the hospital 5 days and my grandmother still sick, it hasn't been a very good vacation. But - we're incredibly thankful for such a loving and supportive family - it was wonderful to be around them, even if the circumstances could be better.

_10/14/12_ Go for Jump
After seeing the historic journey of the space shuttle Endeavour last night, I witnessed some more history via streaming 1080p video on my computer. I'm giving a thumbs up as Felix Baumgartner sits on the edge of his capsule at the edge of space, moments before jumping off.
It's impressive that it happened at all, but even more so because I watched it live. Even though the mission is over, it's worth checking out the site. Pretty crazy stuff - www.redbullstratos.com/
