Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

Oy, what a day. Glad it's over.
This is my only non-utility photo from today, meaning that all my other photos were of signs so I would remember how to get back to where I was. This is the marquee over the Wilshire theater, which I've photographed a number of other times for this project. It's a pretty sad place, and I think it's been for sale since we've lived on this side of town (4 years). Also it's upside down because I liked it better that way.

Neon Curve
Windows
Cool windows on the side of Pemba's theater that appeared to be abandoned.
Cinema Pemba
So, Pemba has a movie theater! I don't think anything was playing.
_04/02/11_ Grauman's Chandelier
Today we celebrated my wife's birthday in Hollywood, right in the thick of it at Hollywood and Highland. We saw Paul at Grauman's Chinese, which was awesome - the theater was anyways. The movie was good, but nothing amazing. If you're unfamiliar with the theater, read this. This photo is of one of the chandeliers in the lobby.
Afterwards we walked down to Musso and Frank Grill for dinner. It's a bit pricey, but it was really fun - the restaurant has been in continuous operation since 1919. The website has a photo of our waiter with Johnny Depp, among others...

__01/28/11__ Framed Fox
The glowing blueish light in the lower left is the Fox Theater in Westwood - I liked how the palm trees in a courtyard a few blocks away framed it. I got this shot while walking to the bus stop after finishing my 3rd week in a remarkably intense fitness program at work.

_08/07/10_ Concentric Concessions
We saw a movie today, and I played around with my iPhone afterward and grabbed this shot of the concessions stand. It's cool because I managed to pivot the phone precisely around the camera, which is why the radial motion has a clear center. I think. This shot is straight out of the camera, which I rarely do!
