Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

Skyline Farewell
And finally, let's end it with a skyline shot. I took this with my phone out the window of the train that took us back to Midway airport.
Tracks
Function over form. Beautiful in it's own way.
Any others?
Old Tracks
New Orleans
Cobblestone streets and abandoned rail lines are kind of depressing to me. This is now a fairly industrial section of the city.

_07/04/10_ Trestle
Happy 4th of July! My wife and I are on a weekend vacation to Ventura, CA. This train trestle was right behind our hotel, and I thought it would make a cool subject. In addition to playing on the train tracks, we swam in the ocean, walked and played frisbee on the beach, checked out the street fair on Main street, and walked along the Ventura river and past Surfers Point. Sadly we did not watch any fireworks, but only because there weren't any around.
Ventura is a really cool place! I highly recommend visiting.
