Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

After only a single full day, we headed back to LA. This photo is from the terminal in Tucson. It was a quick trip, but we packed some great things into it, including meeting yesterday's subject.

By wonderful coincidence, we got to meet my friends' 5 month old today while we were both visiting Tucson at the same time. She is quite adorable, as you can see here. I really like this smile I got!

[last year] last year, we larfed...
2013-03-23 Red Light
Flew into Tucson today, ate at Casa Molina. Delicious. This red light was in a little alcove near our table.

_12/29/12_ Clouds at Sunset
I took this shot at my parents house in Tucson, tomorrow we head home.
With my wife being in the hospital 5 days and my grandmother still sick, it hasn't been a very good vacation. But - we're incredibly thankful for such a loving and supportive family - it was wonderful to be around them, even if the circumstances could be better.

_12/26/12_ Baboquivari Sunset
This was taken from the Babad Do'ag lookout along Catalina Highway, which takes you up to Mount Lemmon near Tucson. Baboquivari peak is the prominent peak in the far mountain range, with the city of Tucson in the foreground. All of those names (including Tucson) are originally from the Tohono O'odham language.
Now that my wife is out of the hospital and doing much better, it was nice to go on a little photo excursion. Before yesterday, all my daily photos had been iPhone shots for 1.5 weeks. Not that that's bad... but it's indicative of photography being pushed pretty far down on the priority list.

_12/22/12_ Desert & Clouds
An out-the-car-window photo of the desert somewhere between Tucson and Phoenix.
My wife is currently in the hospital and I left her to join the rest of my family in visiting my grandmother, who is sick at 99 years old. Now I'm heading back to Tucson and my wife. Everyone's hanging in there, and I hope they both feel a little better tomorrow. Sigh.

Happy Mothers Day! Or, day after, as I'm writing this at 9pm and I'm sure very few will see it on Sunday.
We had a great time eating a meal cooked mostly without motherly input and hanging around chatting. It was fun, but sadly we had to head to the airport, where I took this photo. This shot is not cropped. I lined it up nearly perfectly. I hope you're impressed.

_03/22/12_ Preciouses
After 3.5 years of wearing them, I finally took a daily photo of our wedding rings. Unless you count the photo I took the day after our wedding... but that doesn't count.
Mine is the one in focus, my wife's is the one with a ruby. Both of them have the etched mountain range, which resembles actual peaks around Tucson. I believe this one is Thimble Peak, near Sabino Canyon.
With this photo posted, I thee go to bed.

[last year] love this one - it's real, very little processing...
_12/30/11_ Yellow Balloon
This lovely yellow balloon was floating around as we left Tucson this morning to make the lovely drive back to Los Angeles. I took this photo at Dunkin' Donuts while my wife went inside to buy fuel for the trip. Directly under the balloon is Mount Lemmon (9157ft / 2791m), the highest point in the Santa Catalina mountains. I did a bit of editing with the color and such.

[last year] so cold...
