Welcome to the One/Day Project

Here you will find hundreds of photos that I've taken every day since 2/29/2008. I reached my initial goal of making it to leap day 2012 (after 1462 photos), but I'm still going - the new goal is to make it to Monday, 2/29/2016.

Every photo in these galleries is a unique creation from that day. My intent is to create art, and I've taken great care to create most of these photographs. In addition to not uploading simple snapshots, I try incredibly hard not to repeat myself.

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment. Like the shot? Give it a thumbs up. Really like it? Buy a print or digital download.

Thanks for looking!

2013-04-02 HDR Misuse
I started a class today! It's Phoneography 101 from Photojojo University! I signed up for it a few weeks ago, and they just send the first assignment this morning, which was to intentionally 'misuse' the HDR feature by moving the camera as you took the photo to get a double-exposure effect. This one was my coolest, by far.
You can see my homework version on Instagram. Do you use it? Follow me! I'll probably follow you back. My username is jawsnap (shocker!).

_05/17/12_ Sacred Heart Clock Tower
Today I attended a great conference at LMU - Loyola Marymount University. It's a beautiful campus with a great view. It would have been even better when the nearby area was still wetlands instead of giant apartment buildings. What can I say, Los Angeles sure hates its wetlands.
Anyways, this is the clock tower at the Sacred Heart Chapel, pretty much the central point of campus. The clock is on the other side, in case you were wondering.

_12/01/11_ Saint Ignatius
Happy December! It's almost time to say goodbye to 2011. Crazy.
Today I had an opportunity to visit the University of San Francisco, which is home to the stunning St. Ignatius Church, pictured here. I like this shot because the relationship of the different tower heights as well as the great exposure I got, which was due in large part to the sun reflecting off of light-colored buildings behind me and subtly illuminating the back of the church. This is not HDR.

Also, see more Death Valley Photos, just posted a couple days ago.

Big Head
Don't have much info for this one - it's behind the LBJ library at UT.
Waves
Water splashing off the fountain near the LBJ library at UT.
LBJ
Closeup of a really cool metal mural that depicted LBJ with other dignitaries through the years.
Records
LBJ library - so many records...

_12/28/09_ Old Main
This is Old Main, the original building at the UA. It was finished in 1891 in time for a first class of 32 students. Even more impressive is that I shot this on my compact, handheld at 1/2s.
We were on campus for the UA/BYU basketball game. We had a great time, although we lost by 30 pts. If only BYU didn't have Fredette - he scored 49! I took this photo as we walked back to the car.
