AotP Photographer's Night 2012
For the third time, I participated in the Aquarium of the Pacific's Photographers Night, where the Aquarium closes early so photographers can have the run of the place. Tripods and flashes are allowed (except for a few animals). This year, I rented at 105mm macro lens, although I got a lot of shots with my 60mm macro as well.
The big epiphany from this visit? How awesome jellies are with off-camera flash.

Leafy Sea Dragon (Phycodurus eques) These creatures are amazing. Hard to believe evolution produced something so outrageous. This tank is curved and the distortion is pretty bad, so I actually got this shot by stepping a few feet away, and luckily I was able to get it without any reflections.
