Santa Monica Mountains

Took the new car for a drive around scenic SoCal. We took PCH past Malibu to route 23, which goes over the Santa Monica mountains into Thousand Oaks. We pulled off right before we got back into the city and I got a photo of this cool rock formation. I don't know if it has a name or not, but it's right next to Lake Eleanor, which isn't much of a lake - it's very small. I've always loved climbing around on rocks, so I get excited when I see stuff like this. I never got into hardcore rock climbing though...

on November 18, 2011I've actually climbed that formation a couple times, a few deer paths you can follow that get you up there, not much real climbing necessary although I'm sure you can take more challenging routes to the top that involve climbing
