Angel's Flight
12/5/08
Last day of jury duty! I'm very glad it's over!
This is Angel's Flight in downtown Los Angeles, which bills itself as the world's shortest railroad. It was built in 1901 and travels 315 feet up a 33% grade to get people from Hill St. to Olive St., which are 1 block away from each other. It's being restored right now, but a sign on the top "station" said it would be ready by the end of the year. Of course, the sign was dated 2007, and someone crossed it out and wrote 2008, so who knows when it will be running again.
