Parker Group

Today we drove back home from Sequoia National Park, but not before doing a little more sightseeing. This stand of sequoias is known as the Parker Group, named for the Parker family. Captain James Parker was the acting superintendent of Sequoia NP from 1893-1894 (according to a sign next to the trees).
I like this shot because it gives a sense of the incredible size of these trees - see the person at the bottom? Turns out these trees are average size sequoias. I'll have plenty of shots of the biggest tree - General Sherman - when I get around to posting the rest of the photos from this trip.
