Phantom of the Alley
2009-04-20
The alley by our house features this large cinder block wall, about 20 feet high in some places, and I wanted to experiment with it's potential. I put the flash right up against it to get the texture, and first I tried jumping into the air right as the flash went off, but it was too hard to get the timing right on my own. Maybe another time when someone can help me out.
So, I settled on a still self portrait! I cropped, desaturated and played with the contrast in Lightroom.

on April 22, 2009Love the lighting and the texture here. Great self-portrait. I'd be inclined to crop all the way to your right ear, eliminating the all black area on the lower left which I think is a little distracting. Just my two cents!
