Cracked
2009-09-14 As I mentioned in the caption for Thursday's photo, I would play around with egg shells more the next time I had some lying around. That turned out to be tonight. I spent quite a bit of time setting it up. See setup photos here and here. I'm quite happy with the result. [ last year - http://www.jawsnap.net/Daily/Year1/i-pD6jHmK ]

on September 16, 2009Looks like a super cool half planet to me. The lighting certainly paid off because the shell it lit up beautifully. Neat light induced texture.

on September 15, 2009Thanks for the tip Judy! I actually shoot almost all jpeg, so I didn't actually know where that was. I noticed the blue after uploading and debated back and forth, but in the end decided it wasn't worth going back and fixing. It's kind of grown on me, now :)

on September 15, 2009Really wonderful shot, Jonathan. It is sooo good that I'm going to make a suggestion. You seem to have a bit of blue chromatic aberration on the lower white area at the bottom. You can get rid of that in Photoshop's RAW conversion area. As sophisticated as you are about your shots, I'm sure you know where this is in RAW, but, just in case, it is the sixth icon over from the left. I love the composition and tones in this and the black background. It is wonderfully well lit, as well.
