I'm back from Catalina Island and I've posted 2 dailies from the trip. I will post a whole gallery of photos, including bison, when I get a chance later this week. I'll be sure to let ya know!
Today's shot is a surfer coming out of the water as the sun set at the Venice pier. It started out as a mistake because it's blurry, but I after looking at it for a minute or two, I decided I really like it, mostly the shapes made by the pylons and the surfer/board.

on April 15, 2009Love this, funny I was JUST reading an article in 'Digital Camera World' magazine on a photographer named 'James Sparshatt' who specializes in motion blur photography like this explaining some of his techniques etc. and shots entire story lines using this technique. I really like this and will be trying some of this technique this summer at the beach to give it a go and see what happens. ~Bill~

on April 15, 2009Great shot! The lack of focus doesn't look like an accident- it looks like great creativity and adds a sense of mystery. I need to experiment with this.
